PHOTOJAX 2011 Announces 5 x 500 Project, A COMMUNITY RESPONSE CAMERA PHONE PHOTO-PROJECTION PROJECT

PHOTOJAX 2011 is now accepting entries for inclusion in “5 x 500,” a community response art project showcasing camera phone imagery, occurring at 8:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, a cultural resource of the University of North Florida.

First Coast residents can submit their favorite images taken from a camera phone for potential selection by an Art Advisory committee chaired by MOCA Curator Ben Thompson. The resulting 500 images, exploring the theme of “River City, Sand and Sea,” will each be projected for 5 seconds onto the façade of the museum, located at 333 N. Laura Street, during the event.

Please review the call to artists for additional information and submission guidelines here.

Image submissions are to be sent with image title, type of cell phone used, name, address, and phone numbers. Images must be 72dpi and sent to photojax5x500@gmail.com.  All submissions will be vetted for appropriateness.
