J. Johnson Gallery presents The Camera’s Eye, a collection of photographs spanning the turn of the twentieth century through the present. The exhibition (gathered from represented artists, private collections, and other sales galleries) offers a glimpse into a variety of photographic processes including vintage gelatin silver prints, Polaroid transfers, and even a trio of albumen silver prints from glass negatives circa the 1890s.

The show features nearly thirty black and white works by prominent historical photographers including Eugene Atget, Edward Steichen, Cecil Beaton, Man Ray, and Walker Evans. Also represented in the show are Diane Arbus and Robert Mapplethorpe as well as color photographs by contemporary artists Carlos Betancourt, Candida Höfer, Cecilia Paredes, John Huggins, and Liu Bolin.
